Conducted by the Digital Recovery Coaches and our Clinical Staff, families are educated about the nature of addiction and, in particular, the etiology and neurobiology of Internet, Video Game, and Technology Addiction. There will be a focus on helping family members understand roles in their loved one’s addiction and the necessary steps to support them in achieving tech-life balance and recovery. In order to help them create a more sustainable relationship with technology, family dynamics will be addressed, including generational issues, boundaries, limit setting, relapse prevention, Smartphone use, and issues surrounding blocking/filtering access. Sessions will be conducted live when practically possible and/or via video conferencing. There may be opportunities to share with other families when scheduling permits.
